Yeah, I just know there was only 1 hole that I didn't amend with Sulfur when I planted (because I have alkaline soil) and that plant is really, really sad. It almost immediately turned red after planting and lost all its leaves last fall.

I was surprised that it even came back this year.

I think it's because enough of the slow-release sulfur bled into the soil.
