For several years, I have been collaborating with a long-time personal friend, Tanya Klowden, on a popular book in astronomy, tentatively titled "Climbing the Cosmic Distance ladder" (see the placeholder page for the project at https://terrytao.wordpress.com/books/climbing-the-cosmic-distance-ladder/ , based on a public lecture I gave for many years on this topic. The project was significantly delayed by several events (including the COVID pandemic), but we are now making a push to complete the project. We have a sample chapter at https://terrytao.files.wordpress.com/2020/10/sample_chapter.pdf , and have just launched an instagram account at https://www.instagram.com/cosmic_distance_ladder/ to share some astronomy tidbits and other experiences we have had while researching for this book. For instance, Tanya has just shared on the instagram her experiences comet hunting on Hampstead Heath, following in the footsteps of Caroline Herschel, one of the first professional female astronomers, and a legendary comet-hunter.
