In better news today, Colorado enshrined abortion rights directly into the state constitution and removed the same-sex marriage ban (in preparation for Obergefell being overturned), and Denver has voted for allowing non-citizens to be firefighters, letting city staff have a union, funding the publicly-owned health system, putting air conditioning in all the schools, and giving more money to public transport. So that's something.
