I wanted to backup 50GB of mixed media (WhatsApp Images, Videos, few other minor kinds) from my phone to a server.
I have not found the right method yet (although I have a few left to try), but adding WhatsApp/Media to Auto upload in the Nextcloud Android app was not it. It's been chewing for a week (I do think it is almost there, and I hope the app will actually become usable at that point), and I've had to have my phone on a charger almost full time.
Also, my other Auto Upload jobs suffered.
