Still seeing lots of talk about a PRC invasion of Taiwan, but no discussion of the military realities. An invasion would be comparable to a combination of the Normandy landings and the Italian campaign in WWII but with technology massively more favorable to defense (see Ukraine).
When I raise this point, there is usually a shift to other ideas like a blockade of the South China Sea, on which China depends even more than Taiwan.
