Attempted murder is horrific and unwarranted, however despicable the target. But there’s also an element of “you reap what you sow” here.

Trump’s rhetoric has been inflammatory. He has talked about having people executed. He won’t have expected to be the victim, but when you incite hatred and preach violence, you are helping to create an environment you can’t control.

Let’s just hope that cooler heads prevail.
