The short term goal of tariffs is to relieve the American people of taxes while at the same time drilling for more oil for cheaper energy and slow inflation.
The long term goal of tariffs is after taxes are eliminated or MASSIVELY reduced (maybe 2.5-5% total) then global tariffs can be reduce.
