Seem to recall it coming with the Creative Labs Soundblaster 16bit? Not the greatest technology but certainly an iconic hunk of plastic from a long gone age.
Mine sat next to a set of $20 crappy Creative Labs speakers & my favorite Microsoft Sidewinder Pro flightstick. Played so much Mechwarrior 2 & Xwing vs TIE Fighter with this set back in '93.
