Well if you go down the Linux rabbit hole you are probably wanting to get away from big tech like Microsoft and Google. With that in mind Canonical is who influences Ubuntu and Snap so many people try and get away from that. Another one many people try and avoid is Red Hat because I believe they talked about going closed-source and had questionable telemetry.
Arch is like a sports car that requires more time, attention, and parts to keep it in top performance. It might take more time to tweek because its light on packages, more attention because of constant updates, and parts because it may require many dependencies for any new application you download or build. All that requires a good internet connection.
Now if I were an Ubuntu user I'd limit my options down to two, Kubuntu or Tuxedo.
If I wanted Debian base it would be Debian or MX Linux.
I I wanted an Arch base it'd be EndeavourOS or KaOS. KaOS is the biggest oddball because it focuses primarily on the QT Toolkit.
Desktop environments are another issue.
Your Linux distro will come down to how deep you are in the Linux rabbit hole and your geek level. Do what is right for you.
