They have *many* advantages, but you’re glossing over their disadvantages, which I find very annoying.
We don’t have enough solar panels to replace every non renewable in Europe within the next 10 years, we’ll probably not have the storage to even begin to use only intermittent energy sources (all renewables) within my lifetime unless a breakthrough in technology comes through, the maintenance cost (human and money) of so many renewables spread over whole countries will hit us harder and harder over time (see: maintenance of road networks)
I would love for renewable energies to entirely replace all others. I don’t believe it’s physically possible at all, we need controllable sources like nuclear (or much worse, gas and coal), why not propose building the two in parallel ?
