The enthusiasm comes from the fact that, being new, it has less crap than Facebook, with FB being absolutely insufferable lately.
But it's still FB. You can see it in the data collection or the algorithmic feed. It won't allow people to do anything they weren't already doing on FB. Threads is just for keeping hooked people hooked.
