I just came across a cursed unit of measurement in the wild: gibiBITS per second (Gibps).
I have strong opinions on the whole kilobytes/kibibytes thing (tl;dr do you cry "MARKETING DRUGS" when your kilo of cocaine doesn't contain 1024 grams?), but network transfer, when expressed as bits, has always been unambiguously SI. 10 megabits per second is 10,000,000, not 10,485,760. I have never seen IEC notation for network transfer until now.
