If this is still America, and we still follow the Constitution, then there is no such thing as illegal speech. However, America has been occupied for most of my lifetime by self-serving authoritarian oligarchs who pick and choose which parts of the Constitution are convenient for them. If you see those oligarchs as legitimate, then their unconstitutional edicts have the force of law, some speech is illegal, and the Constitution is just an interesting historical document with no real effect in modern society.

I am too much of an idealist to believe that everything our founders fought for is already lost.
