I don't particularly care whether the products of AI algorithms can be called art. The definition of art has always been a matter of opinion rather than fact. If I had to pick a side, I'd line up with Ted Chiang rather than Matteo Wong, but to me, the whole argument misses the point.
I care about the fact that AI produced text and artwork is theft. It is plagiarism. It is labor extraction without pay. And it is a massive polluter.
