In moving house and getting induction, a few of my pans no longer work (I knew that going in).
it's big sale season, and I'm ready to replace things. But I'm in a spiral about skillets and frying pans - non-stick, cast iron, or stainless steel?
My previous set up wasn't ideal (a giant non-stick lidded skillet that had long stopped being non-stick which I used for everything, a non-stick crepe pan that was perfect and miraculous, and a lidded medium-sized stainless steel skillet).
I'm thinking the new arrangement looks something like:
- lidded medium stainless steel skillet
- small non-stick skillet (maybe ceramic?)
- medium or small cast iron skillet? (are they just a faff?)
- maaaaybe something large as well, but I don't know yet whether that's a pan or a wok (I have to research induction and woks)
Do you have recommendations for me?
Is a cast iron skillet worth it, or just too heavy?
