ok, so today was the first time that I played with the `aperture` parameter for my focal blur and holy crap, increasing it from 0.2, which is what I've been using up unto now, to 1.0 results in a _truly_ dramatic image. I also had to tweak the number of samples per pixel to 200 to avoid graininess in the resultant images...
