Anyone else spent some time in the modern #hustle culture? I'd like to hear your conclusions of your time spent. What you think you learned about the system itself.

Among other things, a company paid for me to take sales classes at "Cardone University" - That's Grant Cardone's sales school I guess you could call it. I got caught up in the podcasts, and books and that fun stuff. I found this much more valuable to learn how this system works, how these people work. I think I sucked at university because I was so interested in how they convinced the world, to convince me, this was the only way to gain an education. The systems, the bureaucracy, it is a beautifully constructed machine.

They can't teach you to be them because it's impossible to do what they did again. Most of them even brag about their books or academies. When speaking with their peers, often equating them to insurance companies without the liability, as effectively free money, it's always an "untapped market". I learned that they can't teach YOU how to build wealth, and that YOU still have to figure out how to become wealthy on your own. I'm not sure there is going to be a single book, or class you can pay for that will actually teach YOU how to become wealthy. It's like a brokerage, they generate revenue from you regardless of your outcome.

They have no stake in your success. Only stake in convincing you their product will provide you success.

That's just the economics of it, I don't make the rules. Just worth understanding this perspective before you buy the next book. I did it, and I'm not the only one.

Some of my favorite things to do are badger sales people when I get phone calls and label their behavior, because I learned the same skills. I ask friends and family to take me with them when negotiating with sales people, I love it. There's something surreal when they realize they have lost control over the customer, their skills have no power in these realms, I know every pitch, and phrase in the book. Some become hostile, others become apathetic and unhelpful - surrender and look elsewhere.

Them: Is there anyone else...
Me: that needs to be involved with this decision? No.
