It annoys me to no end that this article reporting on preventable deaths due to the tragically flawed design of Tesla’s doors then goes to “general concerns about the safety of electric vehicles.” No, it’s not a general problem with electric vehicles, it’s Tesla’s awful lock design. The NTSB should have stepped in long ago to force Tesla to redesign these door locks so they can be opened from the inside after an electrical failure. Now it will never happen.
