lets not kid ourselves here, the democrats did it to themselves, they went farther to the right and didnt offer much in terms of economics, instead of campaigning on leftist economic policy (that overwhelmingly both democrats and republicans both agree is good policy), they went the "oh well we are actually doing good on the economy and trump is gonna make it worse" route, and while the last part isnt incorrect, the first part was very dismissive of the concerns of the working class, everyone still blamed biden for the high prices and more needed to be done about the economy, they should have offered leftist economic policy that the working class (regardless of political party) overwhelmingly agrees is good policy

people didnt vote harris because people blamed the democrats for the economic disaster, and they werent offering any substantial economic reform. they shot themselves in the foot by going further to the right.
