I've known people on the homeless list and living on the streets. In both cases a job had nothing or very little to do with their being in that situation.

I'm literally up at 2am here supporting someone who would be otherwise on the streets if they didn't have me. They are employed. When we hovered above the homeless list because our landlord decided to sell up with little notice, my partner was employed.

This is nowt but papering over the cracks.
