I had today off and there was no one around most of the morning that needed attending or serving or requests fulfilled. So I took some time to do something I've been wanting to do for a long time, set up an old Wacom drawing tablet that someone gave me a while back so that I could use it with Affinity Photo. The pen has two configurable buttons and the tablet has four. I haven't figured out what I want to do with them all yet. So far:
Pen 1: swap between primary and secondary colors (really useful for me)
Pen 2: freeze pen force (to hold a consistent brush width for pressure-sensitive brushes)
Tablet 1: bring up an on-screen shortcut menu (so far, I programmed shortcuts for brush, eraser, and move tools). These all have keyboard shortcuts so I'm not sure how useful this will be.
Tablet 2-4: defaults (shift, control, option keys)
On the off chance that someone uses a drawing tablet with Affinity or Photoshop, do you have any bright ideas for useful ways to set these up?
I've mostly used brush tools etc. for masking adjustments, but I've been experimenting with adding some hand-applied texture to photos also. Maybe some digital painting in my future.
