"content": "The advertised 1Gbps on FTTP is usually slightly less (950Mbps). The bottleneck is probably in the network adapters or the CPU processing of PPPoE encapsulation. Also there will be a certain amount of contention on the backhaul, so try again after peak hours.\n\nIn my experience FTTP runs at full speed from day one. Unlike DSL there's no learning period where the DSLAM works out the optimum settings.",
