it is also *highly* suspicious that Stripe is outright forbidding donations and "content creation" on their platform while supporting the VC-backed startup "Buy Me a Coffee," which is clearly an attempt to scam Ko-fi, Liberapay, etc. out of their business model. if anyone in the US *actually* cared about enforcing anti-trust laws, this would clearly be off the table.

and, Stripe is still allowing donations and content creation through Patreon and GitHub sponsors as well, again, making it clear that they just want to eliminate competition rather than just avoid "risky businesses"
