Spectators observe the eviction of a family cottage on the Vandeleur estate in Kilrush Col. Clare. The house was barricaded by the occupants using three branches and hedges. There is smoke, or steam, emanating from the gap. The family inside – Thomas Bermingham, his sister, two boys and two girls – are armed with boiling water and projectiles to squirt the eviction team.
Recent research suggests the #photo may be the work a Limerick professional photographer, Timothy O’Connor. #history
