had a moment where I thought about all the scientific effort it took to come up with workable theories like “linkage disequilibrium.” Some plant nerd (and I mean that as an honor!) noticed something that didn’t fit the expected data and came up with at least one theory and figured out ways to prove it and then grew out and analyzed all those plants and published results that stood up to scrutiny…. I’m exhausted just thinking about it. Science is such a beautifully communal effort.
