In Windows you can increase the border width of windows for resizing in the registry so you're not trying to fiddle around grabbing 2 pixels.
Computer\HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Control Panel\Desktop\WindowMetrics > BorderWidth
Default is -15. I doubled mine to -30 and it's much easier to deal with.
