salty_apollyon (npub166n…vnht) Disagree, because Vivian is just another Birdo situation, it's not political, it's just Japs being Japs, which works fine there even for kids apparently, but in the West you're just gonna confuse the kids and normalize shit that has no business being normalized. Said kids much later learning the truth and going "WTF, Birdo and Vivian are actually dudes??" was a better outcome than them becoming familiar with concepts like Femboys before even hitting puberty.
It's basically the kind of stuff localizers SHOULD be doing with kids' games, the issue nowadays is that they localize Japanese content to make it compatible not with actual Western values and Cultural sensibilities, but with the values and sensibilities of Satanic GloboHomo subhumans.
