But effectively to me the failure of the Free Software movement is barely making it as more than licensing, where OSI vs. FSF are very similar (unsurprising given the Open-Source Definition is derived from Debian's *Free Software* Definition).
And sometimes I feel like the free software movement just self-sabotages itself when it comes to interoperability as it's also kind of doomed to allow proprietary software to interoperate too, although typically only temporarily due to enshittification (which sadly isn't unique to proprietary software).
Yet that's something which people rightfully tend to care about, specially when it comes to file formats.
