If it's a profile you're already following, it should show the latest posts right away, because gossip periodically fetches the posts for each person in your following list, so they should be in the database. It's normal to see the progressive loading for a person you're not following.
Are you using gossip v0.13.0 ? I'm seeing a different bug, where the feed page isn't updated dynamically, gotta switch to another page and then come back to the feed to see the latest posts.
