I think the pro #onlyzaps group are overlooking the idea that a user isn't just signaling the post creator, buy signaling others as well.

You may be passing up the opportunity to apply useful signal filters to content creation.

Someone may not care about the 'like'.
But may care to see content other people have 'liked' or 'zapped'.
Can a content filter be used for a feed to show: what people I follow are 'liking' and 'zapping'
Can a content filter be used for a feed to show: what the people that are following X are 'liking' and 'zapping'.
-- This is in an effort to find things/people that are of/have common interests, and to promote the ability to filter noise.

The interesting thoughts to me are:
What is the signalling difference between a like and a zap?
To me the only thing really done to the 'signal' is change the barrier to entry, and added a quantity variable.
-- How much is being zapped (or zaps received), and what does that signal mean? it's going to be variable to the user's monetary ability, and what the amount means to the individual. That is typically not something that is an even playing field, and the psychology of differs wildly -- making the signal filter, harder to tune out noise.

The greater point that I want to highlight here has more to do with how this signalling can be filtered, and how does that filter move positive and negative behaviors and experiences for the end users.
