I'm always taken aback when I see "distraction free" minimalist writing tablets/ dedicated word processors for sale. Normally overpriced for what you get, and instead of paying boutique prices for one of these, why not just turn off WIFI on the laptop and use a text editor that has a full screen minimalist "Zen" mode? and old laptop with #linux" would be a great way to go for this use case.
