We're so doomed. See this nonsense in a Guardian article about "AI" today:
"Why, Harding asks, aren’t we harnessing the incredible power of AI to help solve the climate crisis?"
Leaving aside how massive data centres are contributing to the climate crisis, how is that supposed to happen? It's just more hoping that there's some miraculous technological solution for climate change coming down the line that means we don't have to make any effort or sacrifice now.
