In these two images there is an example of good and bad propagation.
Out of 15 relays connected, I received 100% propagation and reached 97% of my contacts.
Those hard to reach is because they have chosen to connect to a few relays. In this way they save battery of the device but are practically isolated in two or three communities, relays that are mostly paid and who decided to put themselves in a glass bell.
Now this is not a criticism of paid relays, it is just the result of field tests.
The more a relays is chosen by people and these propagate you, the more you can afford to have less relays connected.
As long as people settle at relays that do not propagate the posts of others (I assume the non-payers) fewer opportunities will have that their posts reach the deepest nostrsphere.
