I was thinking more long the lines of those tall buildings completely covered in glass panes. The structure aside, I assume those are resistant to tornadoes, or maybe such designs aren't even built in those areas?
Didn't know about the shops being masonry, wonder why that didn't get popular among residential houses as well.
