I think where we differ is that I believe the only ethically sound, consistent way to shrink the state is to personally opt out of it and encourage / persuade others to do the same. Attacking and tearing down a system that some people would prefer to keep in place (because it's their thing, they depend on it, etc.) is on the spectrum of theft in violence *in my opinion*, thus I won't do it.

Does this mean that if you didn't have the resources to defend those you say you are justified in defending, you'd just _not do it_? How does that land with your system of ethics? Are you not delinquent in your "duties" then?
