Last night I dreamed that I found a ratty point-of-sale or similar device at an estate sale or garage sale or in the recycling or something (unclear), and when I got it home and took it apart the thermal printer mechanism was a standalone unit connected to the rest of the machine by an RS-232 serial cable, so I was able to just pull it out and start printing stuff to it. Good times. #retrocomputing #dreams #upcycling
