When did you start writing and what inspired it?
I don't remember and I don't know. 😅 In all seriousness, I can't point to the moment I started writing, but I can point to when I tried to give it up. Writing was a compulsion, I just knew I had to do it. Think it was a combination of naturally having a huge imagination, very few friends, and having an internet connection from a young age. Any spare piece of paper got covered over in doodles and words.
As for inspiration, I remember having a book of Emily Dickinson's poetry as a kid. Not sure who gave it to me but something about the way she wrote about things spoke to me. I loved the way she structured her lines. Outside of that, I just wanted all the things in my head to go somewhere, so I started doing anything to get them out. 😅 There's no real origin story here, I just have always had the need to storytell and writing is the fastest way for me to make that real.
