I've ranted about this off and on throughout the year, but absolutely hate that a major part of the "consumer/patient" responsibility in the U.S. healthcare system is holding providers to account on their billing practices. For most of the year, it's been medical billing, now dealing with sketchy dental billing practices.
Runs the gamut from misquoting us one price ("that procedure is covered in full by your insurance", when it isn't) or over-billing us beyond what insurance calculated.
