I'm not aware of anything audio related which requires the Mastodon API, so I wonder what services they are using in the API and why they think they need them. But since you provided a link to the code, I'll have a look and see what they're trying to do -- and if there's a way to make it more accessible to the non-Mastodon sectors of the fediverse. Cheers.
