Discovered “powerline”, which is a standard for sending an Ethernet connection over our mains wiring. It looks as if it has solved the spotty wifi problem in the garage, where there is wifi-connected “security” equipment.
And, shortly, it will also fix the zero wifi problem in the “dark side of the pool”, where all the filter equipment is and where I’d like to be able to remotely control the pumps. Just waiting for another second-hand Google Wifi puck.
