I am going off of memory as this was several weeks ago. If i remember correctly this was the sequence of events.
First it was installed in a VM. Worked just fine for awhile. Found out that not keeping it on 24/7/365 could cause my channel partner to close my channel. Rushed online to check what was going on after migrating the vm to a new computer. Tried to open up alby hub then every time it would successfully authenticate the password. Then the app would immediately would crash.
Installed alby hub desktop onto a other computer natively this time. Reconnected the wallet to alby via the extention. This time the app did not crash. Instead i got a full transaction history, but a 0 account balance. No confirmations that there was ever a forced channel closure, but that is what everyone told me what happened.
Tried to get support. It was not only from a very rude person, but basically was told I was too advanced of a user to support and that they can't be expected to support everything. Then was to try restoring the wallet again.
Mentioned the story on Nostr in a post. Then alby responded after i called it alpha quality software. Then the rude customer support rep reached back out to me on Nostr, then emailed me, and had the audacity to say I didn't have to be rude. I could only assume that he got in trouble or something and was sour about it.
I did not respond back to the second email. I have not checked on anything since then. Quite frankly I was furious at the balls of that person to respond the way he did.
So I felt it was more mature of me to just let it go. Accept that this is what happens when you go against your gut instincts to not use a piece of software. I want my sats back obviously, but I am up shits creek without a paddle.
