#WritersCoffeeClub nov 24. What's the best time of day for you to write?
Many years ago I had to live in France for three months because of my dog (long story*). Turns out my ideal writing day with zero other responsibilities is to wander around a little French village for the morning, then write for three hours in the afternoon and another three hours in the evening.
Of course these days I get it done in school hours — but *best* time is still anytime but morning.
*not that long, if you’re interested: we were living in Libya and it looked like the Australian company we worked for was going to close and we’d abruptly move back to Perth, but Australia didn’t take dogs, even ex-pat dogs, directly from Libya — he’d have to spend three months in an accepted country first. In lieu of putting our precious puppy into a kennel somewhere for three months, we flew him to France so I could hang out with him for the requisite time, in a tiny little apartment at the back of Menton. Aah, our ex-pat days, what a time…
