Ooh! It seems that interesting Starmer appointments are like London buses and after waiting all day several come along at once. James Timpson seems a very good choice and has done great work supporting prison reform and the rehabilitation of offenders.
It also shows that Starmer is (at least for some roles) not afraid to pick white, male experts rather than politically acceptable DEI candidates without great experience.
