Been hesitant to discuss XMR here but going by the positive reaction to this note, I will say I believe Bitcoin and Monero serve different and equally vital purposes for the future of sound money.

Before explaining my thoughts on this, I give the proviso that if Lightning or some future we'll adopted Bitcoin L2 emerges with the same level of focus on privacy, this sentiment may be null and void.

Might write a full post on this but the TL;DR is: Bitcoin will replace your bank account, Monero will replace physical cash - at least, that's my view.

No CEO, no VCs, no government cooperation, no CBDCs, no tokens, no NFTs, no bullshit.

Both are genuinely decentralised and self-sovereign forms of sound money backed by a strong community of genuine believers. Both are an existential threat to the monopoly held by the state and banks over the supply and policies of worthless fiat.

Both already have a circular economy. Anyone who has ordered "meds" on the darknet in the past few years knows that most DNMs and vendors only accept XMR. You may not approve of such things personally, but as a bitcoiner I suspect you will agree that separating money from the state is a vital endeavour, and an obvious result of doing so is that individuals will further decide not to follow other arbitrary state restrictions on personal freedoms.

LN is infinitely more convenient especially for irl transactions. But transactions carried out in cash today, despite the inconvenience it is to use in modern society, transactions where both parties go out of their way to ensure privacy, this is where Monero will be used in place of cash when the state transitions to a CBDC only "cashless society."

This is reflected in the market right now. Blood on the streets today but XMR is performing almost as well as BTC.

Stack sats first and foremost. That goes without saying. But I do also believe XMR serves a real need and it's simple fact it has a circular economy, a strong community, it scares the state because it hampers surveillance and isn't corrupted by state and corporate interests like Ethereum, Algorand, Ripple, and the other WEFchains.

(Lol this was meant to be a tldr, why do I even say that when I know I'm on Adderall 🤣)

Anyway, willing to write a blog post on this all if it's of interest to anyone.

BTC + XMR = my net worth
