Donut (nprofile…h84x) That's what I mean, I think there IS an explanation, Lynch had it in his head, and he didn't care if people got it. The thing that fans liked was the tantalizing clues, the idea that something real was there, and they enjoy mentally digging towards it. The journey was more fun than arriving at the destination ever would be.
I think Lynch would have considered it a failure if everyone who watched Twin Peaks instantly got it, and its fans wouldn't be fans if that happened. I don't think Lynch was one of those "it means what you want" people, his works wouldn't have been as interesting if he pulled that crap.
