Since I don't use the official mobile Mastodon app, I didn't realize that creating lists with it was such a big deal. If I want to perform a specific function, I simply look for a client that allows me to do so.
One of the main reasons why I prefer Firefish is because Mastodon currently lacks the ability to do quoted boosts -- but Firefish has that functionality. I don't mean to say that Firefish is superior to Mastodon, though. Firefish still has some room for improvement. However, the wonderful thing about the Fediverse is that if you need to accomplish something specific, chances are that someone has already created a solution for it.
Nevertheless, I understand that for some people, Mastodon is all they know. If a feature doesn't exist in the official mobile app, it might as well not exist at all for them. So, I suppose it's nice that the official Mastodon app has a similar feature as the official X app.
