Tonight, I’m watching The Lie (2020) starring Joey King, Peter Sarsgaard, and Mireille Enos.
This looks like a horror film. Here’s the description:
When their teenaged daughter confesses to impulsively killing her best friend, two desperate parents cover up the horrific crime with a web of lies and deception.
This is from the same folks who did Nocturne, which I saw last week. While that movie wasn’t perfect, it was perfectly cromulent – though it sure banged you over the head with the “sex = corrruption” trope.
This time we’re dealing with another teenage girl’s misadventures, and I can’t wait.
For what it’s worth, the iMDB score is 5.8. I’m debating whether or not to mention iMDB scores since they seem to be pretty awful at predicting which movie is good.
