If a prominent citizen is accused or charged with a crime they should be treated exactly the same way as some high schooler with a bong. Or is the criminal justice system different depending on who people decide you are? (Obviously, it is).
And for offices subject to impeachment we should normalize impeachment trials and removal as appropriate. FFS impeachment and removal is literally just getting fired with maximum due process.
