Another place where we’ve seen that the rich have too much money is venture capital. Now when I say “too much money” it’s kind of central to understand what I mean: They are running out of stuff to buy.
They have so much money they can’t figure out where to put it. The market of assets is too small for the amount of money they are trying to “invest”.
This sounds weird if you think that the amount of money is fixed’ish, but that’s the thing: governments all over the world have multiplied the amount of money in existence many times over for the past decades. In a way never seen before.
The rich are where that money is pooling up and they are buying everything that’s not nailed down, mostly from each other, driving up the prices of everything you can own as an asset/investment.
But wages are not going up in the same way, so wage earners are being left behind.
You can’t afford a house because houses are a financial instrument for the rich.
