Let me rephrase this.
Some people don't seem to care what happens to me because they sense that Digit is right about me. But they also don't care what happens to Digit, and I do, so that makes no fucking sense.
Some people don't seem to think I shouldn't care about Digit because they sense that she's wrong about me. But if they cared what happens to me, they would care about Digit. So again, it makes no sense.
People seem more bloodthirsty and predatory than friendly or protective.
Like wild animals.
Like sick people, but everywhere, filling the world, taking over the colleges and the hospitals for so long they redefine "sick" to mean "healthy."
